Castle Green | 99 South Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105

One of the most unique places to live in California, the 1898 Castle Green is a converted luxury hotel designed by architect Frederick Roehrig in the Moorish Turkish style, and in the heart of Old Town Pasadena.  We have done more Castle Green transactions than any other agent.  Please call us for a free consultation.

All of the units were once luxury hotel rooms, many of them have been combined, some are 3 rooms, some are studios. All have wonderful large picture windows, many with curved glass. These condominiums are some of the most sought after retreats in Southern California, and certainly in Pasadena. Many have private balconies, wood moldings, original front doors and hardware, and much of the interior cabinetry is protected. The walls, ceilings and floors are concrete. When this building was constructed, it was hailed as “fireproof”. Ask about the “Time Defenders” living at the Castle: there are 3 residents that defend 3 different periods of time by actually living their life as they did at the turn of the century, the 1920’s, and the 1930’s. The two very popular tours per year are in June and December. This is a great way to experience this time machine.

Residents have use of the public spaces: the Moorish, Turkish, and Victorian salons, the Palm Terrace Ballroom, the gardens, and the huge basement. This property is gated and there is a 24 hour lobby concierge/ elevator attendant for the open air elevator, and your mail is delivered to your door.

The Castle Green, built by New Jersey entrepreneur Colonel George G. Green, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the State Historic Register, and is one of four city Historic Treasures, the highest status in the City of Pasadena.  It is also the site of numerous motion pictures, commercials and TV shows.  To find out more, go to www.CastleGreen.com.

Close to some of the best restaurants and shops in Los Angeles, across the street from Central Park, and close to the Metro Gold Line Station. Parking is conveniently located at the School House lot across the street.

No smoking is permitted at the Castle Green except on the veranda near the sun room. Castle Green is closed to the public.
